As a class, we need to thank a lot of people for all the work they have done to organize this reunion.  The committee gave up many a Wednesday night to brain storm this reunion.

First the committee:

Barb Altland Arvin, Sue Crone Houser, Peggy Gibney Cox, Donna Gross Lentz,  Tim Folkomer, Jane Hamme, Mark Kuntz, Les McNally, Nan Schweitzer Leffler, Keith & Libby Shaub, John Stitt, Sandy Wakefield DeLong, Kathy Yost Brown, & Barb Zellers Musser.

Tim lives in Philly, Nan lives in Baltimore and Les lives in Gettysburg, so they traveled to York for each of those meetings. Thank you so much!

We need to thank Beth and Tim Folkomer for the lovely fresh flowers arrangements for our Friday night event. Beth designed and created them.

We want to thank Kathy Yost Brown for the Saturday night centerpieces

We want to thank ‘The Usual Suspects” for the FREE BEER both nights.

We want to thank several class members for generous cash donations towards various parts of the events like providing free invitations to any and all of the teachers and their spouses.  Thank you Laura Smith Bartlett and Barry Kershner and a few anonymous donors.

We want to thank all the class members that donated money and items to the silent auction.  We are hoping to raise enough money to get the 50th reunion started.

We want to thank Kathy Yost Brown for the hours and hours and hours spent editing information for the class directoryA great big thank you to Bruce Arvin, Barb Altland Arvin’s husband, for helping keep Kathy sane during the process and providing valuable technical support.

We want to thank John Stitt and his lovely wife Janice for being the collection center for all the snail mail and drop in’s for reservations.

We are hoping that some new people will become active and involved for the 50th. A large group of you should be retired and available to help out.  We need to have some more people and new ideas of what you would like to do as a class.

It is a monumental task getting in touch with everyone. Lots have email now (but don’t even respond), some never respond to mail sent directly to their homes. We as a committee have trouble understanding why they don’t.  We get so excited to see all of you.  We can only surmise that you aren’t that anxious to see us.

I was thinking that a “phone tree” may help keep some members without email in touch.  If each email person could take one or two names of classmates and promise to call them when they receive an email, that would make the task so much easier.  What do you think?

So, let’s have a good time with the time we have together.
